Abstract:

this is an old report from my students Carl Justin Kamp, Sean Mattingly, on the feasibility of silicon flexures for a possible cryogenic evolution of LIGO.
The study was interrupted because we decided that it was not interesting to make LIGO cryogenic.
I make this report available because it may come of use for KAGRA's suspensions.
