Abstract:

We proposed a method to synthesize complementary filters using H-infinity methods. We designed a plant such that minimizing its H-infinity norm also minimizes the maximum difference between the super sensor noise and the lower bound of the sensor noise. The proposed method works with any arbitrary pairs of sensor noises and gives optimal complementary filters that suppress the super sensor noise to close to the lower bound at all frequencies.
